What Happened?
Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) stock is climbing after Bernstein SocGen raised its price target from $235 to $265 and maintained a Market Perform rating.
- The upgrade was driven by stronger-than-expected demand for server chips and the addition of a Meta AI deal that most analysts haven’t fully priced in yet.
- Bernstein now models AMD’s EPYC server chip sales growing roughly 50% year-over-year in 2026. That’s a big number, and it reflects just how much momentum AMD has built in the data center space.
- The firm also bumped its 2027 revenue estimate to $76.7 billion — well above the Street consensus of $67.5 billion — largely on the back of that Meta win.
The underlying business backs up the optimism.
- In Q4 2025, AMD posted record revenue of $10.3 billion, up 34% year-over-year.
- Data center revenue hit $5.4 billion for the quarter.
- CEO Lisa Su said AMD expects data center segment revenue to grow more than 60% annually over the next three to five years.

The MI450 GPU series is set to launch in the second half of 2026, and AMD has a multi-gigawatt partnership with OpenAI already in place. Several other large customers are also lining up for the new chips.

What the Market Is Telling Us About AMD Stock
AMD stock is trading near its 52-week high, and today’s move suggests the market is closely watching server chip momentum.
The Meta deal is the new catalyst. If consensus estimates haven’t priced it in yet, there could be more upside ahead.
That said, Bernstein flagged that PC estimates look too high for 2026, which could be a drag. AMD stock also trades at a premium valuation, and Bernstein held its Market Perform rating despite raising the target.

Still, with AI infrastructure spending accelerating and AMD winning meaningful contracts, the direction of travel for AMD stock looks positive heading into the second half of the year.
