Affirm Holdings (AFRM) wrapped up fiscal 2026 with its strongest quarter for profit, and CEO Max Levchin said the core business is “firing on all cylinders.”

Management also reshuffled its leadership. Michael Linford was promoted to president, and Pat Suh now leads global markets, which frees Levchin to focus on new products for fiscal 2028 and beyond.

Growth is coming from several places. Pay-in-X volume grew 41%, and Services volume nearly doubled, helped by a couple of large new platforms.

The company’s guidance for fiscal 2027 points to steady take rates, while revenue less transaction costs is expected at about 4.16% of volume.

Still, the stock is down about 7% over the past year. At $70.08, investors can buy a profitable business at a lower price.

What the Model Says for Affirm Stock

We looked at Affirm as it grows from a buy-now-pay-later lender into a wider payments network.

The company is live at 80 of the top 250 e-commerce sites. It reaches only about 10% of e-commerce merchants, and Levchin says there is plenty of untapped room.

The Affirm Card adds another path. About 19% of active users now have one; cardholders use Affirm roughly twice as often, and around 30% of card transactions happen in stores.

Affirm is also expanding abroad. The U.K. launch is going well, and early feedback from merchants has been strong.

Using a forecast of 25.9% annual revenue growth and 19.2% operating margins, our model projects the stock will rise to $97.15 by June 30, 2029. This assumes a 13.2x price-to-earnings multiple.

That is below today’s 18.2x forward P/E. It also sits under the one-year average of 19.0x. The model does not count on the market paying more.

Our Valuation Assumptions

TIKR’s Valuation Model lets you plug in your own assumptions for a company’s revenue growth, operating margins, and P/E multiple, and calculates the stock’s expected returns.

Here’s what we used for Affirm stock:

1. Revenue Growth: 25.9%

Affirm grew revenue 32.1% over the past year. The three-year pace was 39%, and the five-year pace was 37.4%.

Our estimate is lower than all three, given that growth should slow as the business gets larger.

Merchants are also signing on faster. Levchin said a new retailer launch now gets support from automated systems within days, which wasn’t the case a few years ago.

Shoppers are using Affirm more often, too, and transactions per user keep rising each year.

2. Operating margins: 19.2%

Affirm’s operating margin was 9.8% for the year 2025, while it was in the red three years back.

We assume the climb continues. Credit is a key driver, as Affirm approves or declines roughly 100 million loans a quarter. It sets a credit target first and lets approval rates follow.

Management says it would slow growth before it let losses build and also sees no sign of consumer stress.

One caution is taxes. The CFO expects the GAAP tax rate to land in the mid- to high-20% range, with some swings along the way.

3. Exit P/E Multiple: 13.2x

The market values Affirm at 18.2x forward earnings, and we assume this drops to 13.2x.

We stay cautious because Affirm’s earnings history is short, and the multiple can move a lot.

Funding gives some comfort as Affirm sells loans to capital markets partners, which gives it a steady source of cash.

Its Affirm Edge product, which lets banks run Affirm-style financing, may add more over time.

What Happens If Things Go Better or Worse?

Consumer lenders are sensitive to credit and funding costs. Here’s how Affirm stock might perform under different scenarios through June 2031:

  • Low Case: If revenue growth slows to 20.5% and net income margins reach 23.6%, investors still see a 38.1% total return (7.1% annually), which implies a price of $96.78.
  • Mid Case: With 22.7% growth and 26.1% margins, we expect a total return of 91.1% (14.8% annually). That implies a price of $133.91.
  • High Case: If growth reaches 25.0% and margins hold at 28.4%, returns could hit 157.0% total (22.3% annually). That implies a price of $180.08.

The range depends on credit and merchant wins.

In the low case, consumer credit weakens, or big merchant launches take longer than expected.

In the high case, Affirm signs more large retailers and grows its card use. The first bank launches of Affirm Edge also help.
