AppLovin Corporation (APP) had a softer Q2 in 2026. Revenue came in just under the midpoint of its guidance and adjusted EBITDA landed slightly below its range.
The numbers were still strong. Revenue grew 53% from a year ago, and adjusted EBITDA rose 58% to $1.61 billion, with margins above 80%.
CEO Adam Foroughi said the miss was about timing and model improvements were lighter than usual in the quarter. The next big upgrade arrived just after it ended.
Management says Q3 is off to a strong start and expects revenue of $2.055 billion to $2.085 billion. That would be 7% to 8% higher than Q2.
The company also closed a loose end, while the SEC ended its inquiry with no recommended action.
Even so, the stock has fallen about 56% over the past year. At $260.25, investors may be getting a lower price for a business that is still growing fast.

What the Model Says for AppLovin Stock
We looked at AppLovin as it moves beyond mobile gaming into e-commerce ads.
Gaming is still most of its revenue. Better models let advertisers spend more at the same return, and publisher earnings on its MAX marketplace grew by double digits from the prior quarter.
The consumer business is the newer driver. Advertiser spend in Q2 was 28% above Q4 2025, which is normally the busiest quarter.
Management says the whole business can grow about 30% a year over the long term.
Using a forecast of 26% annual revenue growth and 75.4% operating margins, our model projects the stock will rise to $365.55 by December 31, 2028. This assumes a 14x price-to-earnings multiple.
That is well below AppLovin’s historical P/E averages of 30.3x (one year) and 25.4x (three years). The model gives investors a wide cushion if the multiple stays low.

Our Valuation Assumptions
TIKR’s Valuation Model lets you plug in your own assumptions for a company’s revenue growth, operating margins, and P/E multiple, and calculates the stock’s expected returns.
Here’s what we used for AppLovin stock:
1. Revenue Growth: 26%
AppLovin grew revenue at a 3-year pace of around 30%, and the five-year pace was 21%.
Our 26% sits between those long-term rates. It is also below management’s roughly 30% goal.
The consumer side is still early. The platform opened to the public in June. The company is targeting mid-sized brands first, often through partners like attribution firms.
It says the platform has not yet reached a ceiling on advertiser spend.
New advertisers are also expected to spend more. The company’s early figure was about $70,000 in gross spend in the first year. Management expects that to rise as it focuses on larger brands.
2. Operating margins: 75.4%
AppLovin’s operating margin was 75.8% for the year 2025. Three years ago, it was far lower.
We assume a similar level going forward. Compute costs are the main pressure. Management says it spends about 10 cents on compute for each new dollar of revenue.
That spending has a payoff. Higher training and inference costs fund the models that lift ad performance. The company also expects margins to stay in the low 80% range on an EBITDA basis.
3. Exit P/E Multiple: 14x
The market values AppLovin at 14x forward earnings. We assume it stays at that level.
That is far below the 5-year average of 29.3x. We keep it low because the stock has already fallen sharply and uncertainty remains.
The company also generates cash. Free cash flow was $863 million in Q2, and net debt is near zero. It still has about $1.8 billion left to buy back shares.

What Happens If Things Go Better or Worse?
Ad platforms depend on steady model gains. Here’s how AppLovin stock might perform under different scenarios through December 2030:
- Low Case: If revenue growth slows to 19.8% and net income margins fall to 61.9%, investors still see a 37.1% total return (7.8% annually). That implies a price of $356.77.
- Mid Case: With 22.0% growth and 66.3% margins, we expect a total return of 82.2% (15.4% annually). That implies a price of $474.29.
- High Case: If growth reaches 24.2% and margins hold at 70.0%, returns could hit 135.7% total (22.7% annually). That implies a price of $613.51.

The range depends on how steady the model upgrades are.
In the low case, quarters like Q2 repeat and consumer ad growth stays slow.
In the high case, the consumer business scales through partners. New supply, such as non-gaming apps, also adds more room to grow.
