What Happened?

Salesforce (CRM) stock is climbing after the company told investors at Dreamforce this week that it expects to top $63 billion in revenue by fiscal 2030, well above the $59.2 billion analysts expected.

The announcement came at a pivotal moment for Salesforce stock, which spent much of the past year under pressure from fears that AI would eat into demand for traditional business software.

That fear, often called the “SaaSpocalypse,” gained steam in 2025 as AI models got more powerful. But Salesforce has been pushing back hard.

Last month’s earnings report beat expectations and included a $2.6 billion gain tied to the company’s investment in Anthropic.

Salesforce stock jumped almost 23% on that news, its best single-day move since 2020.

The company also unveiled Claudeforce, a new tool that lets businesses work with their Salesforce data directly inside Anthropic’s Claude.

Patrick Stokes, Salesforce’s president of applications and marketing, said up to 1,000 clients have already signed up for the beta version.

Salesforce also introduced Koa, a new AI reasoning model built on Nvidia technology. Slack, which Salesforce bought for $27.1 billion in 2021, is playing a bigger role too.

Company president Alexa Vignone said Slack has become a hub where employees communicate directly with AI agents.

Underneath the AI headlines, the underlying business also looked strong.

  • In the most recent quarter, revenue grew 11% to $11.35 billion, and CRPO, a measure of future bookings, accelerated to 14% growth.
  • Agentforce, the company’s AI agent platform, reached $1.5 billion in annual recurring revenue.
  • Free cash flow jumped 81% to $1.1 billion.

Salesforce also leaned into buybacks while the stock was down earlier this year, repurchasing a cumulative $60 billion of its own shares.

Chief Operating and Financial Officer Robin Washington confirmed the total, and CEO Marc Benioff joked that he wanted to thank investors who sold Salesforce stock at $150.

What the Market Is Telling Us About Salesforce Stock

The market reaction suggests investors are buying into the idea that AI is helping Salesforce.

Operating chief Miguel Milano said flatly at Dreamforce that he’s retiring the word “SaaSpocalypse” from his vocabulary, a notable shift after quarters of defending the business against that exact narrative.

With Salesforce stock now trading above $250, back near levels last seen before the AI-fear selloff, the raised long-term forecast looks like confirmation rather than a surprise.

Benioff also noted the company’s Anthropic stake could eventually be worth tens of billions, funds he said would likely help pay down debt tied to the buyback program, another signal that management sees more room to keep supporting Salesforce stock going forward.
