What Happened?

Lucid (LCID) stock jumped 6% on Thursday after two pieces of good news landed at once. First, Lucid announced a new robotaxi partnership with European ride-hailing company Bolt.

The deal will put at least 25,000 fully autonomous Lucid vehicles on the road across multiple European cities. These vehicles will be built on Lucid’s upcoming Midsize platform.

Lucid and Bolt will develop Level 4 autonomous vehicles together, using Nvidia’s Hyperion platform. Bolt will own and run the fleet, while Lucid Technologies supplies the AI and self-driving expertise.

This is Lucid’s second major robotaxi deal.

The company already has a U.S. partnership with Uber and Nuro, where Uber has committed to deploy at least 35,000 Lucid vehicles, including Gravity SUVs and future Midsize models.

That program is currently being tested in the San Francisco Bay Area and Houston.

The second piece of news is what really moved Lucid stock. CEO Silvio Napoli told Bloomberg that Lucid has wrapped up its work with restructuring advisor AlixPartners.

Lucid brought AlixPartners on board in July to help cut costs while it worked to scale production and develop new vehicles.

Napoli said the firm’s work was focused on reducing spending, and it helped shape Lucid’s target of cutting cash consumption by $1.4 billion in 2026.

That $1.4 billion goal covers lower inventory, reduced capital spending, and tighter operating costs.

Lucid also cut its workforce back in June, a move expected to save the company about $158 million a year.

Together, these cost cuts and the new robotaxi deal are giving investors a reason to feel more optimistic about Lucid stock after a rough year.

A 6% jump is a big move, and it shows investors are reacting positively to both the new Bolt partnership and signs that Lucid’s cost-cutting work is done.

Retail sentiment on Stocktwits also turned bullish on Lucid stock over the past 24 hours, though not everyone is convinced.

LCID Stock Valuation Model (TIKR)

Context matters here.

Lucid stock is still down more than 60% for the year, so today’s rally is a small step compared to how far shares have fallen in 2026.

Investors will want to see whether the company can turn these partnership headlines and cost savings into real financial progress before getting too confident that the turnaround is underway.
