What Happened?

Venezuela has authorized Starlink to operate in the country. Interim President Delcy Rodriguez approved it, Reuters reported on Friday. The government said the approval is part of an agreement with SpaceX (SPCX).

Starlink is SpaceX’s satellite internet service. SpaceX is adding satellites and offering more services. These include consumer, enterprise, aviation, maritime, and government plans.

On the Q2 call, SpaceX said Starlink was available in 167 markets at the end of the quarter. It said it continues to activate new ones.

What the Market Is Telling Us About SpaceX Stock

This is a small piece of news for SpaceX stock. It adds a country, but it does not change the company’s numbers on its own.

Still, it fits the story investors already follow. SpaceX stock is tied closely to Starlink growth. The latest results show why.

  • In Q2, revenue rose 92% to $7.8 billion.
  • Starlink’s Connectivity segment brought in $4.3 billion, up 66% from last year.
  • Starlink added more than 1.7 million subscribers in the quarter. That was its best quarter for new customers.
  • Average revenue per user held steady at $66 a month.
  • The company is still losing money. It reported a net loss of $541 million. But that loss was smaller than a year ago.
  • Adjusted EBITDA was $3.5 billion.

SpaceX is also spending heavily, as capital spending stood at $18.4 billion in Q2. Most of it went to AI computing, and management said it expects the next two quarters to look similar.

SpaceX ended the quarter with $100 billion in cash and securities. It also had $47.5 billion in backlog.

Management said it expects to reach $100 billion in annualized revenue by December.

So SpaceX stock is balancing fast growth against heavy spending and ongoing losses.

New markets like Venezuela help the Starlink story. Still. investors will want to see more countries come online and how that shows up in subscriber numbers.
