SoFi Technologies (SOFI) stock jumped 13.4% on Tuesday, October 27, closing at $16.40 after the fintech raised its 2026 guidance and gave a first look at 2027 that landed above Wall Street’s numbers.
The jump added about $2.5 billion in market value. On 2027 earnings, the stock went from about 17.9x the old $0.81 consensus to about 18.2x SoFi’s new $0.90 guide, so investors mostly repriced the earnings and paid up only slightly for them.
What SoFi Changed on Tuesday
- 2026 revenue: about $5.04 billion in adjusted net revenue, up from a prior range of $4.75 billion to $4.85 billion (roughly 40% growth)
- 2026 adjusted EPS: about $0.61, from $0.60
- 2027 outlook: about $6.4 billion in adjusted net revenue and $0.90 in adjusted EPS, against analysts’ roughly $0.81
- The quarter: adjusted net revenue rose 44% to $1.371 billion, and members grew 35% to 17.1 million (Q3 release)
- The catch: 2027 adjusted EPS growth (about 48%) trails adjusted net income growth (about 52%), implying roughly 3% growth in the diluted share count
SoFi Stock Is Still Cheap on Its Own History
Even after the jump, SoFi trades at 20.35x forward earnings, against a 53.35x average on this chart (lifted by triple-digit spikes in 2023 and 2024).

The multiple slid through 2026 as the stock fell while earnings grew, and Tuesday barely interrupted that slide. In April, SoFi stock fell 13% after a record quarter because guidance held. This time the guide moved, and the stock moved with it, adding only a sliver to its 2027 multiple.

What the Street Still Doubts About SoFi

Analysts now sit at $0.86 for 2027, still about 5% below the $0.90 SoFi guided to, with $1.08 penciled in for 2028. At $16.40, SoFi trades at about 18x its own 2027 number and about 15x the Street’s 2028.
That gap is the opportunity. If SoFi delivers its guide, estimates have to rise, and the stock can follow without any re-rating. The guide implies roughly 3% more diluted shares, so the risk is dilution beyond that: more shares without more earnings would pull adjusted EPS below $0.90.
