What Happened?
SLB (SLB) posted Q2 earnings of $0.55 per share, beating the $0.51 analysts expected. That’s down from $0.74 a year ago, but it still marked a solid surprise of nearly 8%. This is now the fourth straight quarter SLB has beaten earnings estimates, a streak that’s helping build confidence in SLB stock.
Revenue also grew, coming in at $8.97 billion for the quarter, up from $8.55 billion last year and above the consensus estimate by close to 3%.
On the earnings call, management pointed to broad-based international growth and a rebound in North America as key drivers.
Revenue increased sequentially across nearly all divisions, excluding the Middle East, supported by stronger offshore activity in Latin America, higher demand across Europe, Africa, and Asia, and a pickup in U.S. land activity.

The Middle East remained a soft spot, with disruptions tied to the ongoing conflict weighing on results there.
Even so, the rest of the business more than made up for it, which is a big reason SLB stock is trading higher today.

What the Market Is Telling Us About SLB Stock
Investors have already been rewarding SLB stock this year, with shares up about 30% in 2026 itself, well ahead of the S&P 500’s 8.2% gain.

That said, it’s worth noting the current setup isn’t entirely rosy.
