What Happened?
Meta Platforms (META) stock climbed about 4% on Thursday, and investors have two big reasons to feel good.
The main one is company-specific: Meta released Muse Spark 1.3, its newest AI model for coding and agentic tasks, on September 2.
Meta says the model handles longer, more complicated workflows, uses tools, manages multiple tasks at once, and can even correct gaps in its own plans.
It started rolling out through Muse Code and the Meta Model API the same day.
This matters because Meta is pouring huge amounts of money into AI. If the models keep improving, that could strengthen Meta’s developer ecosystem and open doors to new products beyond social media.
Alongside Muse Spark 1.3, Meta also introduced Muse Voice Transcribe, its first real-time audio perception model. It handles real-time speech recognition, speaker identification, and multiple languages, trained across more than 70 languages, with 25 validated extensively for launch.
The second reason for the rally is bigger than Meta itself. Treasury yields eased on Thursday, sparking a broad tech rally.
Microsoft, Nvidia, and other major tech names moved higher too, with the Nasdaq and S&P 500 both posting strong gains.
Lower bond yields tend to help growth companies because investors value future earnings more when rates fall. So Meta Platforms stock is riding both a company-specific catalyst and a favorable market backdrop.
Underneath all this AI news, Meta’s core advertising business continues to perform well.
- Q2 revenue hit $60.80 billion, up 28% year-over-year, with ad revenue climbing 27% to $59.36 billion.
- Ad impressions across Meta’s apps rose 14%, and the average price per ad increased 12%.
- Daily active users across Meta’s Family of Apps reached 3.60 billion in June, up 3% from a year earlier.

But the spending is heavy too.
Capital expenditures hit $31.1 billion in the quarter, and total costs and expenses rose 55% to $42 billion.
That pushed operating margin down to 31% from 43% a year earlier, partly due to infrastructure spending along with legal and severance costs.
Meta also recently settled its child safety trial for up to $17 billion over 10 years, along with major product changes for teen users.

What the Market Is Telling Us About Meta Platforms Stock
Today’s move in Meta Platforms stock shows investors are encouraged by visible proof that Meta’s massive AI spending is producing real products, not just promises.
Still, the bigger question remains: can Meta turn this AI investment into enough extra revenue and profit to justify the cost?

For now, strong ad growth and new AI releases are giving Meta Platforms stock the benefit of the doubt, but investors will watch closely to see whether these tools eventually move the needle on engagement, advertising performance, or entirely new revenue streams.
