What Happened?
Robinhood (HOOD) stock jumped nearly 17% on Thursday after Deutsche Bank put out a report on prediction markets, and Robinhood came out looking like a big winner.
Analysts at Deutsche Bank said financial key performance indicator (KPI) contracts have the strongest growth potential in the prediction markets space, and they see Robinhood as a key company positioned to benefit from that trend.
Scotiabank analyst Lance Jessurun started coverage of Robinhood stock with an Outperform rating and a $136 price target.
He argued the market has been mispricing Robinhood as just a cyclical retail broker, when really it has more stable revenue coming from net interest, subscriptions, and international crypto activity, things that don’t swing as wildly with market cycles.
Piper Sandler also chimed in. Analyst Patrick Moley raised his price target to $145 from $135, keeping an Overweight rating.
His reasoning: the upcoming football season should drive heavy prediction market volumes, and strong engagement on Robinhood Chain is adding to positive retail sentiment.
Robinhood stock is known for big swings; it’s had more than 50 moves greater than 5% over the past year. But a near 15% jump is rare even by Robinhood’s standards, which tells you this news really shifted how the market views the business.
The last comparable move was nine days ago, when Robinhood stock gained almost 8% as Bitcoin’s rebound above $77,000 lifted trading volumes across digital-asset brokerages.
Goldman Sachs and Needham both had $123 price targets on the stock at that time.

Robinhood has also kept expanding its product lineup lately.
That includes new closed-end funds that give retail investors access to private companies, with Robinhood Ventures Fund II sized at roughly $255.5 million.
Ongoing hope for clearer regulation around crypto and tokenized securities has helped keep buying interest alive beyond just today’s headlines.

What the Market Is Telling Us About Robinhood Stock
Today’s rally shows analysts increasingly see Robinhood stock as more than a simple retail trading app tied to market ups and downs.
The prediction markets narrative, paired with steady subscription and interest income, is reshaping how Wall Street values the company.
Even after this jump, Robinhood stock remains more than 15% below its 52-week high set in October 2025, suggesting there’s still room to climb if this bullish thesis plays out.

For context on long-term performance, someone who invested $1,000 in Robinhood five years ago would now have about $2,866.
With football season approaching and prediction market volumes expected to grow, investors will watch closely to see whether today’s optimism translates into sustained momentum.
