What Happened?

Meta (META) stock is getting attention ahead of earnings after Deutsche Bank came out with a bullish note.

The bank said its checks on the advertising business were, in its words, overwhelmingly positive. Advertisers are seeing stronger conversion rates and better return on ad spend, and the bank credits this to Meta’s investments in AI-powered ad ranking, retrieval, and campaign automation.

Deutsche Bank bumped its revenue estimate for Meta up to $60.5 billion, a touch above the broader Wall Street consensus.

The bank also pointed to Alphabet’s steady Search revenue growth as a good sign for Meta stock, since both companies compete for similar advertising dollars.

Looking further out, Deutsche Bank flagged that investors are hoping Meta can reach the top end of its own Q3 guidance, which sits around $64 billion.

The bank thinks that’s realistic if Meta keeps beating its own initial guidance by a similar margin as recent quarters, helped by better ad efficiency, steady user engagement, and growing revenue from business messaging.

What the Market Is Telling Us About Meta Stock

This note lines up with what Meta itself has been emphasizing. On its most recent earnings call, the company reported total revenue of $55.9 billion for Q1, up 33% year over year, with ad revenue climbing at a similar pace.

Management pointed to AI improvements in its ad systems, including a new adaptive ranking model, as a key driver of better ad performance.

The company also said tools like its Value Optimization suite, which helps advertisers focus on higher-value conversions, now generate more than $20 billion in annual revenue run-rate, more than double what it was a year earlier.

Meta has also been investing heavily to support this AI push. The company raised its 2026 capital expenditure outlook to a range of $125 billion to $145 billion, up from its earlier estimate, largely due to higher costs for infrastructure components.

For investors watching Meta stock, the question heading into earnings is whether that spending is translating into the kind of advertiser returns Deutsche Bank is describing, and Wednesday’s report should offer a clearer answer.
