What Happened?
Tenable (TENB) stock fell 11.9% on Feb. 23 and closed at $18. The stock is now near its $17 52-week low. It’s also down about 55.2% from the $39 52-week high.
The pullback comes after Tenable reported Q4 results earlier in February. The company posted Q4 revenue of about $261 million, which topped the IBES estimate of $252 million. Tenable also announced an additional $150 million added to its share repurchase authorization.
Tenable also laid out 2026 guidance alongside the Q4 release. Management guided to full-year 2026 revenue of $1.065 billion to $1.075 billion. That implies mid-single-digit growth off 2025 revenue of $999.4 million.
More recently, Tenable published research on AI-related exposure risks in cloud environments. The company said it is seeing a growing AI exposure gap tied to supply chain risk and identity controls. That kind of messaging can support the long-term narrative, but near-term trading stayed volatile.

Analysts’ targets still sit well above today’s price. The Street’s mean target is $30.95, versus a $17.55 close. That implies about 76.4% upside.
Targets have also trended down over the past year. The mean target moved from $48.51 at 12/31/24 to $30.95 at 2/23/26. That reset suggests analysts have moderated expectations.
The current target range is still wide. The high target is $45, while the low target is $23. The Street is also split across Buys, Holds, and Underperforms.
Even so, target-to-price has expanded as the stock fell. The Street target/price ratio is about 176.3% at 2/23/26. That gap reflects valuation compression more than upgrades.
What the Market Is Telling Us About TENB Stock
Tenable’s fundamentals look steadier than many software peers. The company posted LTM gross margin of 78.1%. It also delivered a positive LTM EBIT margin of 1.6%.
Growth is slowing, but it remains positive. 2025 revenue was $999.4 million, up 11.0% year over year. For Q4, revenue was about $261 million and beat consensus estimates.
Cash generation is also a key support. TIKR shows about $255 million of LTM free cash flow, and that’s a 25.5% margin. But investors may still question durability if growth keeps decelerating.
Capital returns are now part of the story. Tenable expanded its buyback authorization by $150 million, and the board approved it on Jan. 15. That can help offset dilution, but it depends on execution and timing.
