What Happened?
SpaceX (SPCX) plans to launch its giant Starship rocket early Monday. The goal is to reach orbit for the first time.
The 75-minute launch window opens at 8:15 a.m. ET from Starbase, Texas. The Federal Aviation Administration issued the license for Flight 14 on Sept. 26.
None of Starship’s 13 earlier test flights were meant to reach orbit. This one is.
SpaceX also plans to deploy 26 of its new Starlink V3 satellites during the mission.

That second goal may matter even more for SpaceX stock.
The V3 satellites are larger and generate twice the power of earlier versions.
They are also built to send data faster to Starlink users. On the August earnings call, Elon Musk said a V3 satellite is about 10 times more capable than a V2.

What the Market Is Telling Us About SpaceX Stock
Starship is central to SpaceX’s growth plan. The company needs it to scale Starlink.
Starlink sits inside the Connectivity segment, SpaceX’s largest segment and its only profitable one as of Q2.
Connectivity revenue reached $4.3 billion in Q2, up 66% from a year earlier. Operating income for the segment jumped 79% to $1.7 billion.
SpaceX already runs about 11,000 active satellites. Rival Eutelsat OneWeb has roughly 650.
Musk even said Starlink could one day deliver most of the world’s internet, at least in countries where it’s allowed to operate.
Across the whole company, revenue grew 92% to $7.8 billion in Q2. But SpaceX still posted a $541 million net loss as it spends heavily on Starship, satellites, and AI compute.
In other words, SpaceX stock buyers are paying mostly for future growth.
The story goes beyond internet service. SpaceX is preparing Starship for a major NASA test flight next year and plans to use it to return U.S. astronauts to the moon.
COO Gwynne Shotwell also said the company plans to launch AI compute satellites in 2027.

A successful orbital flight would move all of these plans forward.
A setback could push timelines back. With SpaceX stock valued at about $2 trillion, investors will be watching Monday’s launch closely.
