What Happened?
On September 9, Robinhood Markets (HOOD) CEO Vlad Tenev told a Goldman Sachs audience that “a lot of people find the friction of having to go to their desktop and set up a Claude Code and link it to Robinhood to be not ideal.” Twenty days later, at its HOOD Summit in Houston, Robinhood unveiled AI trading agents built into its app, with no linking or setup required.
Shares closed at $116.22 on September 29, before the keynote, then rose more than 2% in overnight trading. A day earlier, Robinhood’s investor relations materials posted September trading data, which matters more for the next report than either launch.

Tenev Named the Bottleneck on September 9. Houston Removed It
Since Robinhood opened its platform to outside AI agents in May, over 150,000 customers have opened agentic trading accounts, and agents use its tools nearly 30 million times a day. Those calls include research and watchlist requests, so the figure tracks engagement, not trading volume.
Robinhood Agents lets customers pick an OpenAI or Anthropic model inside the app, with trade approval on by default and no margin at launch. Robinhood said eligible U.S. customers would get it through a randomized rollout over the following weeks. Customers bear all risk for agent-executed trades, and Robinhood says it does not supervise or audit the agents.
Tenev’s roadmap goes further. At Goldman, he said “the road map is all assets,” naming prediction markets and futures, while agents trade stocks, options, and crypto for now. The Summit also brought plans for crypto perpetual futures with up to 10x leverage, earnings contracts, and weekend equities trading targeted for early 2027, pending regulatory review.
Treasury’s Trump Accounts Push Adds Accounts
Also on September 29, Treasury released temporary regulations that could auto-enroll more than 60 million additional children in Trump Accounts in 2026, up from roughly 7 million signed up out of about 73 million eligible. At Goldman, Tenev said Robinhood is the program’s sole initial broker and trustee, in partnership with BNY (BK). Trump Account assets and contributions count toward Robinhood’s Total Platform Assets and Net Deposits, but not its Funded Customers.
Funding is the gap. The $1,000 federal deposit, for children born from 2025 to 2028, is not automatic, and parents must first claim the account. Tenev’s goal at Goldman was that “every single child under 18 has an account that’s funded,” and auto-enrollment solves only the account half.
TIKR consensus expects Q3 2026 revenue of around $1.39 billion, up only about 9% year over year, with GAAP EPS down around 14%, before growth rebounds to around 41% in Q1 2027. Robinhood’s September data showed about $267 billion of equity volume from September 1 to 24, against about $206 billion from September 1 to 25, 2025. A beat may not be enough: shares fell after each of the last five reports, including a 3.61% drop after Q2 results topped estimates.

The mid case, the neutral scenario, targets around $225 by December 31, 2030, roughly 93% above the September 29 close, or about 17% a year. That sits well above the Street’s mean target of around $131 across 27 estimates, with ratings split 18 Buy, 6 Outperform, 3 Hold, 1 Underperform, and 1 Sell. Pre-Summit moves were mixed: BTIG raised its target to $135 and KBW to $115 with a Market Perform rating, while Deutsche Bank cut to $134, according to The Fly.
On its full 2025 to 2035 forecast, the same mid case averages around 9% annual revenue growth, net income margins near 42%, and a P/E shrinking about 2% a year, landing around $215 by December 31, 2034, or about 8% a year. The upside is agents and perps lifting revenue per active trader while Trump Accounts widen the funnel. Model cases are scenarios rather than floors: shares fell 57.26% peak to trough by March 30, 2026.
Conclusion
Robinhood’s Q3 report, expected in early November, comes first. Revenue above the roughly $1.39 billion consensus would show trading holding up before any new product contributes. The slower signal is how many auto-enrolled Trump Accounts parents actually claim and fund.
