What Happened?

Remitly Global (RELY) stock is climbing after the money transfer company posted a massive earnings beat for Q2.

Earnings came in at $0.93 per share, crushing the $0.12 analysts expected. Revenue reached $495.2 million, above the $485.88 million consensus and up 20% from a year ago.

The quarter also marked a major milestone for the company.

  • Remitly crossed 10 million quarterly active customers for the first time, growing 20% year-over-year.
  • Send volume jumped 27% to $23.5 billion, and
  • Adjusted EBITDA hit a record $115 million, a 23% margin that beat the company’s own guidance by $28 million.

New CEO Sebastian Gunningham, six months into the role, pointed to three things driving the results: a strategy built around affordable and fast money movement, a competitive position that keeps gaining share, and structural cost discipline powered partly by AI. Free cash flow nearly tripled year-over-year to over $130 million.

Remitly also expanded well beyond its core remittance business this quarter. High-value sender volume, transfers of $5,000 or more, grew 37% year-over-year, including the company’s first-ever $300,000 single transaction.

Remitly Business, which serves companies rather than individuals, saw both volume and revenue growth accelerate. The company also launched the Remitly Global Card, a new all-in-one product letting customers send, spend, save, and borrow from a single account, along with a stablecoin wallet in Latin America.

What the Market Is Telling Us About Remitly Global Stock

The scale of this earnings beat helps explain why Remitly Global stock is moving higher.

Beating EPS estimates by this wide a margin, along with a genuine revenue beat and a major user milestone, is the kind of combination that tends to build strong investor confidence in a company’s near-term trajectory.

Remitly Global stock has already climbed nearly 30% over the past 12 months, though it’s been roughly flat over the past three months heading into this report.

That pattern suggests investors had been waiting for a catalyst, and this quarter’s results, particularly the jump in adjusted EBITDA margin and the crossing of 10 million active users, appear to be providing exactly that.

RELY Stock Valuation Model (TIKR)
