What Happened?
CrowdStrike (CRWD) closed at $239.34 on October 21, 14.17% below its October 6 record close of $278.86. That was after a 5.26% gain on October 21, the day CrowdStrike expanded its NVIDIA partnership and several cybersecurity peers also rose. The pullback put the price back under Wall Street’s mean target of about $246, which had sat 11% below the stock at the end of September. Whether that is an entry point depends on an argument CEO George Kurtz made at a Goldman Sachs conference on September 10.

Kurtz’s Case Rests on Regulators
Kurtz’s pitch for AI Detection and Response (AIDR), CrowdStrike’s product line that monitors what AI agents do, was about compliance. He pictured a regulated company telling its regulator, “We don’t know what our agent did. It did something. That’s not going to fly.” His conclusion: “given the level of compliance that’s out there, 100% is going to be mandated.” He cited no specific rule, so the mandate is his prediction.
He sized it with Investor Day figures: AI spending of about $2.7 trillion growing to almost $6 trillion in 2030, with security attaching at 1% to 8%. Even 1% of 2030 spending implies roughly $60 billion a year across all vendors, about 10 times CrowdStrike’s $5.84 billion of ARR at July 31, 2026.
Customers Are Asking for the Traceability He Describes
Kurtz said a hyperscaler design partner’s top goal for Guardian was deploying AI faster. He described security as “hitting the gas pedal for the first time for IT rather than hitting the brake pedal,” and added that half the market is still on legacy security.
The proof so far is real but light on dollars. CrowdStrike said on October 7 that AIDR has grown more than 79-fold in three quarters since launch, without disclosing its size. On October 21, Autodesk (ADSK) chief trust officer Sebastian Goodwin said in CrowdStrike’s NVIDIA (NVDA) announcement that Falcon Guardian shows Autodesk “what our agents are doing, what they can access, and when to intervene.”
The tie-up is not exclusive. Its chip-level piece is still planned, and NVIDIA named 10 other security vendors on the same architecture, including Microsoft (MSFT), Palo Alto Networks (PANW), and Zscaler (ZS).

The Fiscal Third Quarter Leaves Little Room for a Miss
The Street’s third-quarter revenue estimate of about $1.529 billion sits just under the top of management’s $1.523 billion to $1.529 billion guide. That bar comes at a rich price. As of October 21, the stock trades at about 169x next-twelve-month normalized P/E, versus 83x for Palo Alto Networks, 50x for Fortinet (FTNT), and 47x for Zscaler. Fiscal second-quarter GAAP EPS was $0.01, against $0.31 adjusted.
Kurtz sold 20,000 shares on October 19 and 20 under a 10b5-1 trading plan adopted in January. His Form 4 reports about 7.42 million directly held shares after the sales, a figure that includes unvested restricted stock units.

TIKR Advanced Model Analysis
- Current Price: $239.34
- Target Price (Mid): ~$466
- Potential Total Return: ~95%
- Annualized IRR: ~17% / year

The TIKR model’s mid case reaches about $466 by January 31, 2031. Revenue would need to compound from fiscal 2026’s actual $4.812 billion to the roughly $13 billion consensus for fiscal 2031, about 22% a year, though only three analysts project that far. TIKR’s EBIT margin rises from 21.7% to about 30% over the same span. Hitting that path would require AIDR to become a standard purchase and Flex to keep adding modules.
The primary risk is that Kurtz’s predicted mandate arrives slowly while rivals sell into the same NVIDIA platform. The stock could then track the Street’s roughly flat view, and a lower multiple would push it below that.
Conclusion
CrowdStrike is expected to report fiscal third-quarter results in early December, but it has not confirmed a date. Revenue at or above $1.529 billion only matches expectations. The real test of Kurtz’s argument is a first dollar figure for AIDR ARR, or sequential growth near the pace he described as “nearly tripled” for the July quarter.
