What Happened?
AMC (AMC) stock rallied after the movie chain posted its best quarter in company history. Revenue rose 14.2% to $1.6 billion, while adjusted EBITDA soared 70% to $321.4 million, the highest quarterly result in AMC’s 106-year existence.
Free cash flow came in at $190.1 million, and the company’s profit margin jumped to 20.1% from 13.6% last year.
The earnings beat lined up perfectly with a blockbuster weekend at the box office. Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” opened huge, pulling in 4.3 million guests to AMC and Odeon theaters worldwide over the weekend. CEO Adam Aron pointed to that momentum directly, saying America is “fascinated” with the film right now.
Options traders piled into AMC stock this morning too. More than 300,000 contracts changed hands, nearly five times the normal daily average, making it one of the most actively traded stocks in the market by options volume.
Roughly 100,000 calls were bought compared to about 62,000 sold, and less than 10,000 puts were bought, a clearly bullish tilt. Over $6 million in options premium traded hands, with $5.5 million of that tied to call contracts.

This rally builds on a strong stretch already.
AMC stock has climbed almost 56% over the past six months. Still, longtime holders from the meme-stock boom haven’t fully recovered.

What the Market Is Telling Us About AMC Stock
The heavy call buying in AMC stock shows traders are betting the good news keeps coming.
With “The Odyssey” already breaking records and Sony’s “Spider-Man: Brand-New Day” arriving in just two weeks, there’s a real catalyst pipeline building for the second half of the year.

The options activity also echoes AMC’s meme-stock past, when retail trading in options helped drive huge swings in the underlying shares.
That pattern appears to be showing up again, though this time it’s paired with actual record earnings rather than pure speculation.
As Aron put it, “people love to go to movie theaters,” and right now the market seems to agree, pushing AMC stock higher on the back of both a genuinely strong quarter and renewed retail enthusiasm.
