What Happened?

CoreWeave (CRWV) CEO Michael Intrator and entities linked to him have sold nearly $1 billion of stock since the IPO in March last year, Reuters reports.

The filings show more than 10 million shares were sold, which began about two months after the stock hit a record high in June 2025.

Most of the sales were made under prearranged trading plans, which let executives sell on a preset schedule, so they do not necessarily reflect management’s view of the business.

About $40 million was not part of those plans and originated from sell-to-cover sales, where shares are sold to pay taxes on vested stock.

CoreWeave stock lost about 24% last week as investors worried about heavy spending and the debt needed to fund it, while bets on interest-rate hikes are rising.

As of Thursday’s close, the company was valued around $38 billion, and CoreWeave did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

  • Capital spending was $9.4 billion in the quarter.
  • Interest expense was $640 million, up from $267 million a year ago.
  • The company said that was due to more debt.
  • CFO Nitin Agrawal expects Q3 interest expense of $860 million to $940 million.

What the Market Is Telling Us About CoreWeave Stock

For CoreWeave stock, the CEO sales are not the main issue. Most were planned in advance, and the bigger issue is how the company pays for its growth.

The business itself is growing fast as revenue more than doubled in Q2. Adjusted operating income rose to $128 million, and management expects margins to keep improving.

The company also said near-term capacity is effectively sold out.

But the net loss was still $626 million.

That leaves CoreWeave stock sensitive to debt news and interest rates, given that rising rates make borrowing costlier.
