What Happened?

Circle (CRCL) is pushing into about 40 emerging and developing countries, CEO Jeremy Allaire told Reuters.

He spoke on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank meetings in Bangkok and said blockchain is moving from the early adopter phase into mainstream scaling.

Demand is rising in Southeast Asia, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East where individuals and businesses want to join an internet-based economy.

Allaire said stablecoin adoption is happening mostly outside the United States.

Circle is backing the push with deals.

It bought Tazapay for $400 million and got a $100 million investment from Binance.

In July, it became one of the first stablecoin issuers to hold a federal bank charter.

Circle is the world’s largest regulated stablecoin issuer and holds about 25% of the market. Rival Tether’s USDT has nearly 60%.

USDC circulation hit $73.3 billion in Q2, up 19% from a year ago.

The U.S. Genius Act takes effect next January, and Allaire called it a “watershed moment” because the world will have legal digital dollars.

What the Market Is Telling Us About Circle Stock

Circle’s Arc system has been adopted by firms like BlackRock, Visa, and Standard Chartered.

On the earnings AMA, Allaire said Arc’s public Mainnet launches on September 16 and also said AI agents are driving use.

They make tiny payments, often fractions of a cent, for web research and data.

For Circle stock, the story is a bigger global footprint. Circle earns income from the reserves behind USDC.

More circulation means more reserves. Allaire says the company is also building other revenue lines, including its payments network and Arc.

However, banks in the U.S. and Europe are building their own stablecoins.

Allaire sees that as a sign of a healthy market. He also warned that AI brings more security threats and said, “If you’re not concerned about it, then your head is in the sand.”

Tether still holds far more of the market. That gap matters for Circle stock as it expands.
