AI compute drives most of that ramp: CFO Bret Johnsen said in August that \u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Ftechcrunch.com\u002F2026\u002F08\u002F04\u002Fspacex-doubles-revenues-on-anthropic-and-google-compute-deals-starlink-growth\u002F\">$6.7 billion of contracted cloud revenue\u003C\u002Fa> starts ramping this month.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For scale, that $40 million contract is less than 0.1% of the roughly $86 billion analysts expect over the next four quarters. SpaceX doesn’t break out Ukraine revenue, but it would take more than 20 contracts that size just to reach 1% of forecast sales.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Ch2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Speed Caps Aren’t New in Ukraine\u003C\u002Fh2>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The strongest objection is that this is a security setting, not politics. In late January, SpaceX added a roughly \u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fjamestown.org\u002Fukraine-responds-to-russias-starlink-use\u002F\">75 km\u002Fh limit on Starlink terminals over Ukraine\u003C\u002Fa> at Kyiv’s request, because Russian forces were flying Starlink-equipped strike drones faster than Ukraine’s own. Registered Ukrainian terminals then went on a whitelist.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So SpaceX has used speed rules before, with Kyiv’s blessing. What’s new is the target: Ukraine’s own military tier, with no notice given.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Ch2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SpaceX Owes Its Defense Customers an Answer\u003C\u002Fh2>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Everything turns on why SpaceX made the change. A fix aimed at Russian drones that clipped Ukrainian units is a one-day story.
